Privacy at the counter.
EBAYSIC runs on the trading data of your shop and the details of your customers. This notice explains what we hold, why we hold it, and the control you keep.
Who this covers
This notice applies to EBAYSIC, the retail point-of-sale platform operated by EBAYSIC Private Limited, and to the retailers who use it along with the shoppers who transact at their counters.
What we hold
- Account information - the name, store name, email and store details you give us when you sign up.
- Trading data - the sales, returns, stock movements, pricing and till activity generated as you run your shop.
- Customer records - the contact details and purchase history a retailer chooses to capture for loyalty and receipts.
- Technical data - the device, connection and usage information needed to keep the counter running and secure.
Why we hold it
We use this information for one purpose: to run the service for the retailer. That means operating the till, keeping stock and pricing in sync across stores, producing forecasts and reports, powering loyalty, and supporting and securing the platform. We do not sell your data, and we do not hand it to advertisers.
Who controls the customer data
For the shopper information a retailer captures, the retailer is the owner of that relationship and decides how it is used within the shop. EBAYSIC processes it on the retailer's behalf to deliver the service - recording purchases, applying loyalty and issuing receipts.
How payment details are handled
EBAYSIC records how a bill was settled - cash, card, UPI or store credit - for your accounting. Where card and digital payments are involved, we work with payment providers rather than storing raw card numbers on the counter, keeping the most sensitive payment data out of the platform.
How we protect it
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited by role, and each store operates on a resilient local copy that reconciles centrally. Trading data is backed up so a lost device never means a lost day. More detail lives on our security page.
How long we keep it
We keep trading and account data for as long as the retailer uses EBAYSIC and for the period afterwards needed to meet tax, accounting and legal obligations. When a retailer leaves, data is removed or returned in line with the arrangement made at that time.
Your control
Retailers can access, correct and export their data, and can ask us to delete it subject to the legal records we are required to keep. Shoppers who want their details changed or removed from a shop's records should contact that retailer, who can action it within EBAYSIC.
Reaching us about privacy
For any question about how your data is handled, write to us at sales@ebaysic.com or through the contact page, and a person will respond.
